Overview

Providence Trials are a collection of challenges which feature different levels, rulesets and objectives. They serve as the primary method of unlocking many items and skills. Each trial has a goal the player must reach in order to successfully complete a trial, and every trial also has a second harder goal the player must reach to achieve a golden rank in said trial. Bosses drop powerful buffing wisps when hit.

10% chance on hitting a boss monster to drop a buffing wisp that improves health regen, attack speed, move speed, and base damage for 10 (+6 per stack) seconds.
, and earning 15 unlocks the Artifact of Prestige.

Unlocking Providence Trials as a whole requires the player to unlock any single character, and from then on the Providence Trials gamemode is available from the main menu. Upon first loading into it, the only trial available to the player will be CommandoPortrait0.pngCommando's "A Colossal Feat". To unlock further trials, the player must have the relevant survivor unlocked, as well as succeeding at least 1 of the adjacent trials.

Access a deadly weapon against the Teleporter bosses.

The Atlas Cannon appears each stage, activating it deals 40% (+20% per stack) of maximum health as damage to the teleporter boss after it spawns.

Judgement

Judgement unlocks once the player has completed all other trials, and serves as the final boss of the gamemode. Unlike other trials, it has no set character and the player may choose which survivor to play as (though, the player is unable to select their abilities, being locked to their default loadout). Beating it with each survivor unlocks a unique skin for use in any future runs. The final trial is a very different challenge and experience to regular trials, so if you care about spoilers or experiencing it for yourself, don't click on the page link.
