Items
Items are the main building blocks of Risk of Rain Returns. They are the method through which survivors are able to gain power throughout a run. Items are split into 6 tiers: White/Common, Green/Uncommon, Red/Legendary, Yellow/Boss/Planet, Equipment/Orange, and Special/Purple.
When picked up, items last for the rest of the player's run. Picking up multiple of the same item causes the effect to stack in a way determined by the item.
In total, there are:
• 33 White items, 14 of which are unlockable.
• 33 Green items, 17 of which are unlockable.
• 32 Red items, 18 of which are unlockable.
• 27 Equipment items, 12 of which are unlockable.
• 7 Boss items.
• 10 Special items, counting (5) Food items.

Picked up items yield an additional temporary copy.
Picking up an item gives you a temporary copy of itself. Temporary items last an additional 10 (+10 per stack) seconds, and the Artifact of Tempus) instead yield temporary items which expire after a certain amount of time.

White/Common
White items are the items a player will likely obtain the most of. They have somewhat weak effects that can prove powerful when obtained in large quantities.

Green/Uncommon
Green items appear much less often than common items are more generally more situational than the other tiers. Some rely on critical strikes, some requiring you to take large amounts of damage to trigger.

Red/Legendary
Red items are the rarest and most powerful of the tiers. They can provide a massive boost in power if used correctly, but generally have worse stacking behavior. Looking at you, Repulsion Armor.

Umbrella |

Orange/Equipment
Equipment items are manually activated items that the player can only hold one of at a time (therefore unable to be stacked). They generally have long cooldowns but make up for it with powerful effects.

Yellow/Boss
