Jellyfish
Jellyfish are monsters and enemies in Risk of Rain Returns.
Description
The Jellyfish bears much resemblance to real-life jellyfish, with a few distinguishing differences. The translucent body of the Jellyfish houses a human-looking brain, from which their tentacles are connected from.
The existence of a brain in the jellyfish may suggest intelligence, sentience, or sapience. It is unknown if it possesses any of those qualities.
Instead of producing venom, Jellyfish administer electrostatic shocks. Finally, Jellyfish fly through the air using gases they absorb from the ground and convert to energy to propel themselves.
Behavior
The Jellyfish is always seen flying in from the corner of the screen, usually from a diagonal angle that is above the survivor.
It makes a beeline straight towards their target and gain a burst of speed when within close proximity to the player.
Jellyfish then try their best to stay as close to the player as possible, dealing low but continuous damage on contact.
Unlike creatures of similar mass to the Jellyfish, they cannot be knocked back by light attacks. they can only be knocked back with stuns.

An airborne creature, capable of flight using a combination of gases in its clear hull. Like the Jellyfish on earth, they also use pulsation to aid in locomotion; however, rather than a series of tentacles, they have two branches' made of many tentacles wrapped around themselves.
Also like the Jellyfish, they have quite the sting, capable of penetrating my weather shielding. The same gases used for flight are used to create a very powerful electrostatic charge.
When they are not busy hunting me, the Jellyfish have been seen sunbathing and absorbing the strange fumes from the ground."
Trivia
- Jellyfish are actually the children of the Wandering Vagrant. They have three phases in a life cycle: Jellyfish, Young Vagrant, and finally, Wandering Vagrant.
